By-Abel Admassu Warm Greetings to All Ethiopian and Eritrean Family and Friends in the Greater Toronto Area, I am delighted to share a truly heartwarming experience that my son Mikael and I had the joy of attending. On July 19, 2025, we were honored to join the university graduation celebration of Sarah Getnet, the beloved daughter of our dear friends. It was a day filled with joy, laughter, and cherished family moments. What made this occasion especially meaningful was the realization that many of our children — born and raised here in Toronto, baptized, and brought up singing together at our beloved Menbere Berhan Saint Mary Cathedral — are now stepping into adulthood as strong, successful individuals. Witnessing this filled my heart with pride and gratitude. To add to the day’s significance, Sarah surprised everyone toward the end of the event by inviting us to celebrate another major milestone: her parents’ 30th wedding anniversary. This beautiful gesture was a testament to how much our children have grown — not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually. As her parents, Tadelech Ayele and Getnet Abeje, took the stage to don a ceremonial golden robe and cut a special anniversary cake, the room was filled with emotion and joyful tears. It was a moment that brought our community even closer. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Sarah for organizing such a memorable event and for honoring her parents in such a thoughtful and mature way. Once again, we congratulate Sarah on her graduation and wish her abundant success, health, and happiness in all her future endeavors. To the proud parents, Tadelech and Getnet, long-time residents of Toronto and pillars of our community and church: Happy 30th Anniversary! May your love continue to inspire many, and may God bless you with many more joyful years together. May God bless all of us and keep our homeland safe and at peace. With warm regards, Abel Admassu
