
A productive meeting was held with Graham McGregor to discuss the experiences, opportunities, and priorities of the Ethiopian community in Ontario.
During the meeting, community leaders shared perspectives on the challenges many Ethiopian newcomers face while establishing their lives in Canada. Participants spoke about the realities of rebuilding their lives after migration and navigating unfamiliar systems while adapting to Canadian society.
Discussions also highlighted opportunities to strengthen community engagement, promote Ethiopian cultural visibility, and enhance participation in civic and public life across the province. Minister McGregor listened attentively and responded to questions and concerns raised by community representatives, acknowledging the importance of continued dialogue with growing communities.
The meeting was facilitated by Nigussie Adamu and Mohammed Firin, who supported the discussion and emphasized the importance of sustained engagement with Ontario’s diverse communities.
Participants noted that the meeting underscored the value of ongoing communication and collaboration between government leaders, community organizations, and media representatives. Such partnerships are seen as essential to better support multicultural communities and ensure inclusive participation in Ontario’s social, cultural, and civic life.
